Welcome to Eunice Christian Private School of Duval County, Inc., an independent, Duval County based private school focusing on Home Based Education. Our families appreciate your interest in Eunice and we encourage you to review the following information to better acquaint yourself with the beliefs, structure and requirements of our school. We hope that you find that Eunice can meet the needs of you and your family in providing a lifetime of memorable educational experiences.

Eunice Christian was founded in 1983 by a core group of concerned parents who firmly believed that home based instruction could provide a superior education for their children, both spiritually and academically. Today, we continue to seek to provide what is best for our families, focusing on the responsibilities of the parents in the area of education.

Eunice Christian is currently made up of 32 families. There are many group activities offered. These activities vary with the desires of the families within the school. In the past we have had Science Club, Show and Tell, Pizza Hut Book-It, Math-a-Thon, Book Report Club, High School Journalism/ Yearbook, Talent Shows, and many field trip opportunities.

As a private school, we are required to maintain certain records. Within 30 days of acceptance, you will be required to provide the following for each of your students:

  • Birth certificate
  • Immunization Records (HRS 680)
  • Student Health Exam (HRS 3040)
  • Request for Transfer of Records

During the course of the year, you will be asked to present your student's portfolio for review by our Florida State Certified Teachers. These are mandatory meetings. A checklist will be provided and assistance will be offered in preparing your portfolios for review.

Basic requirements are:

  • Up-to-date log book
  • Report card
  • Attendance register
  • Skills checklist
  • Textbook/Curriculum Aids list
  • Reading lists
  • Samples of work
  • Creative crafts/art work
  • Book reports (4th grade & up)
  • Creative writing projects (4th grade & up)
  • 3 field trips of your choice per quarter

At the end of the year, you will be required to have your student tested or evaluated.

You will be asked to attend an Orientation Meeting where you will have a chance to meet the members of Eunice and ask any questions you need answered. At this meeting, you will receive a faculty manual that will serve as your guide to Eunice for the year. The manual contains information on the member families of Eunice, the names and responsibilities of the elected officers and guidelines for the general operating procedures and policies. Details are included on the record-keeping, portfolio preparation and testing requirements.

Special Note: Since we are a private school, students of Eunice Christian are not eligible to participate in public school sports or extra-curricular activities as a "homeschooled" student.
